“Disappointing”
I was thrilled with the property overall; the rooms were great, especially the big bathtub that was a real treat, though I brought my own toiletries. The nighttime staff were fantastic and friendly, going up and down the stairs to help with my needs and even apologised to me; he was the only one who remembered me from a previous stay. Breakfast was amazing, with huge portions and well‑cooked food, and I appreciated the personal touches in the room. On the downside, the lady I spoke to over the phone was rude and hung up; when I called back to ask for the manager, she claimed to be the manager and dismissed my complaint as a connection issue, even though I had the call recorded and mentioned they might get ill. In the morning, I was accused of smoking in the room even though I had walked out to smoke and the nighttime staff saw me; I had left an item at the property and when I returned, I was asked if I had smoked or rolled cigarettes, to which I said no, yet they claimed other visitors had smelled it. This made me feel self‑conscious and anxious, especially since I was already unwell and had booked this place to avoid stress. The staff warned that if the manager had come down, I would have been banned. I don’t think I’ll return; I stayed only because I couldn’t rearrange or get a refund, and I was treated rudely and accused of something I didn’t do, which left me upset and anxious.
