The place is super central. Swagat serves excellent Indian and Nepalese dishes with great service. The room was tidy but plain, fitting the reasonable price. Plenty of coffee, tea, biscuits, and a decent antenna TV. Parking is free at the back. The bathroom was dated but acceptable for a single night. Being above a pub on a Saturday with karaoke made it a bit noisy, though the back street was quiet.

The property hit the spot for our needs, and the beds were pretty comfy. The room felt very basic and not very clean; the corridors leading to the rooms had an unpleasant smell, and both the room and bathroom were dusty. The shelf above the sink was wobbly, so nothing could be placed on it, and the mirror was loose—though I understand it’s an old building.

The spot is great, but the door handles were broken, water pressure was awful, and people kept knocking on my door right in the middle of the night.

Conveniently located on High Street and close to the event we attended. The communal hallways were a bit tired but otherwise satisfactory.
