“This place can, and should, be so much better than it is............”

Great spot, comfy bed, and the breakfast that arrived was excellent. Only a quarter of a toilet roll was in the room, the windows wouldn’t open, dinner was very limited unless you enjoy burgers with thick American sauces, breakfast lacked bread and milk (apparently forgotten), and there were no hot drinks because the kettle was never turned on.

The staff were wonderful, the food was fantastic, the spot was perfect, and the interior was lovely. The double room was ridiculously tiny, barely enough room to move, and the bed was terribly uncomfortable, leading to a very bad night’s sleep.

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, but the climb up the stairs to reach the room was exhausting, and there was nothing on the evening meal that pleased us—sorry.

“Another hidden get - if you can climb stairs”

The restaurant was fantastic, especially the Texas barbecue in a small English town—done right—and breakfast was pretty good too. The rooms were spacious and well furnished, giving off a nostalgic feel like staying in an English pub. It was worth the experience, and parking was free in a private lot behind the hotel; it was a bit cramped to get in and out, but still convenient. Unfortunately, my 90‑year‑old mother‑in‑law and my own 77‑year‑old body struggled to climb all the stairs up to the fourth level (third floor).

“Excellent stay for 1 night comfortable,clean and reasonably priced”

Very close to Alnwick’s centre and the playhouse theatre, and the staff were helpful; toiletries and extras were excellent. The shower wasn’t the best, the room was small, and dogs weren’t allowed in the bedrooms.
