“Very poor”
The bed was very comfortable. I booked for a friend’s wedding and, because of the ceremony time, asked for an early check‑in which the woman I spoke to on the phone said was fine. When I arrived, no one was there and the building was locked. I rang and looked for anyone, but found none. When I finally returned for the reception, a man behind the bar told me no one had been notified about the early check‑in. The bar was massively under‑stocked for the reception. The next morning nobody was around, I never got breakfast and no one was there to take my key. Very poor experience, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
“The place was closing down so staffing was poor and the food was dreadful. The room small but clean.”
The location was good, but the first day we had no hair dryer and the bathroom leaked, so we had to mop up with towels that weren’t replaced. The breakfast on the second day was cold—so cold it seemed like it came straight from the fridge, the eggs were refrigerator‑cold, the bacon tasted like sweat, and there was no milk for cereal. On the last day there was no breakfast at all.
“Lovely country pub”
The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and tidy, and it was quiet at night. The food was delicious in the evening and the full English breakfast was tasty, with generous portions of whitebait and lasagne. The outdoor beer garden was lovely and the beers were proper. We would have liked shower gel in the shower and a couple of mugs for tea instead of just coffee cups, but those are just suggestions.
“🙏 open it up again”
We’ve been staying here for a few years and have really enjoyed the food, especially dinner and breakfast, and the staff are always friendly. The location is nice, but we just learned that the place will close permanently, which is such a shame.
“Good over night stop again 5*”
Everything was spot on on our second visit, except the bed was lumpy, which was the only downside.
