The people were wonderful and the room was fine. Everything feels a bit dated but nothing is wrong! The fantastic Da Baffo restaurant is a short walk away and you shouldn’t miss it; it uses local products and has a passionate owner. The coffee shop across the street is also perfect, with cornetto. The location feels a little grimy, but it’s super convenient to reach and is just part of real Turin.

The reception ladies are truly super kind. The value for money is excellent.

The welcome was kind and polite from the two ladies, the room was clean, and the proximity to the center of Turin with public transport right in front of the building is convenient. The owners’ closing of the gate means you always have to ring to come back in, wait for them to let you out, and the room is a bit small.

The two elderly ladies who run the place are delightful and eager to help. I felt my Italian helped make communication smoother. Getting there from the main railway station is basically a door‑to‑door ride on Tram 4, but because you can’t buy a ticket on the tram or at the station, you have to find a tobacconist’s shop a block away to buy a multi‑day ticket. Staying here is a rather idiosyncratic experience—you ring to be let in from the street (you don’t get a key, so a late‑night exit would be problematic), a simple breakfast is served on a tray to your room, and the small lift will stop if you lift your finger off the button. The room itself was spacious but the bathroom was very cramped. The price was extremely reasonable, which mattered because my plans changed at the last moment. I live in a very quiet Greek village and this old hotel with single glazing sits at the intersection of two very busy major roads. Even with the wooden shutters lowered and the curtains drawn, the traffic noise most of the night would have kept me from sleeping unless I brought ear plugs (and even then…).
