“Hübsches Altstadt-Hotel mit steilen Treppen und sehr freundlichem Service”
A quiet retreat in the midst of a lively Maastricht city centre on weekends. The hotel is just a few minutes on foot from the inner city, which is a relief because it’s a bit away from the hotspots (Vrijthof, Markt…). If you’re not good at walking, try to get a room a bit lower, because the three steep stairs to the – but very nice – roof rooms can be challenging. You can park your car in a neighbouring courtyard that belongs to the university, but it costs a lot! Les Charmes has no restaurant, but there are countless nearby venues with a wide culinary range. The friendly young man at check‑in gladly helps find the right place for your taste. The healthy breakfast is presented appealingly on a plate for each guest and served at the stylish breakfast room. The side room doubles as an aperitif bar in the late afternoon – a completely convincing hotel. The old‑world, stylish building – of course, you have to make some age‑related concessions.
