“Просто класс (вторая часть)”
I booked a room for friends and am adding to my previous review what didn’t fit in the first one. We paid the hotel in cash in yuan upon arrival, but I had previously asked about payment via the booking app. A 500‑yuan deposit is returned when we leave. Only use cash in yuan or Alipay; don’t bring dollars—exchange issues and double conversion will arise, as in almost all of China. Friends ignored us and took half the dollars—Jaclyn helped with the exchange, but it was not easy. It’s best to have WeChat; if you don’t, ask Jaclyn via the booking app for an invitation and help installing it—she has had it for five years, so we didn’t bother. We ordered a transfer to the hotel on Trip; it was a bit more expensive than Didi, but they greeted us with a sign so we didn’t have to wander the airport. The return ride on Didi turned out to be an unbelievable amount: it started at 137 yuan, but at the end it was charged 218 yuan. For food, if you don’t know Chinese, download a translator with image reading so you can at least guess what you’re choosing. Always say “NOT SPICY.” The menu with photos isn’t everywhere, and sometimes you can’t tell if the meat is meat or grass. The restaurant near the hotel isn’t great, but there is one; the prices are confusing because the wall has no prices, only a full price list without photos. The potato that’s cut like noodles is not recommended—everywhere it’s half‑cooked. The hotel itself doesn’t offer breakfast; if you choose breakfast at booking or order later via Jaclyn, they bring a ready‑made meal to the room, which is decent. We once had dumplings for breakfast—good. But it’s probably better to cook breakfast yourself; there are pans and a pot. The air conditioning in one room can be turned off, but in another it may get colder, so you need to adjust the speed and temperature. You can skip the slippers—they’re plenty, both single‑use and decent leather ones. Everything else I’ve written. Check‑in: the hotel has no reception; you must coordinate arrival with Jaclyn via WeChat, at least an approximate time, if you don’t have WeChat then use the booking app. We warned her in advance. If you can’t find her, go to the Hilton reception desk and give them the Chinese version of the booking with the phone number; they’ll call her. Taxis usually arrive incorrectly, so you need to set or show the location in the middle of the complex to the hotel entrance of The Mermoon Resort Hainan Tufu Bay, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Otherwise you’ll get lost around the hotel complex—two times we were taken to the edge of the hotel where there’s a second entrance; if we didn’t show the way with a finger… The correct way is to go to the main entrance with the guard and two turnstiles shaped like a fence, then after check‑in go right, somewhat bypassing the building, and then the first left turn on the driveway (don’t get into the garage—there’s a road going down under the building). I highly recommend the hotel—the price‑quality‑comfort ratio is simply excellent. Don’t believe bad reviews from those who want to pay the minimum and still get a restaurant and shops right in the room. For me, 11 yuan and a three‑minute trip is absolutely nothing and not long.
