“A delightful apartment with many thoughtful extras”
The Nest, a charming apartment above a garage, was beautifully arranged with everything needed for a weekend plus extra niceties like milk, a range of teas and coffees, breakfast pastries, snacks, and alcoholic drinks; a basket of toiletries, including toothbrushes, showcased the attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable, hot water plentiful, and a radiator warmed the room in the morning. A kettle, toaster, microwave, and small fridge let us prepare breakfast easily. The weather was wet and windy, so we spent little time in the village, but the small community shop and cafe were cute. The nearby pub was lively; booking a table outside the bar is advisable because the bar area was noisy. Vegetarian options were limited. Kim made the place cozy and welcoming, resulting in a lovely stay. The Wi‑Fi was non‑functional, and the phone signal was weak, so the TV didn’t work either, preventing us from catching rugby or Goodwood, which meant we spent more time at the pub. Kim and her husband tried to fix it but failed. Despite this, the positives outweighed the negatives, and Kim’s thoughtfulness kept the rating high. We’re not very tall, but the sloped ceilings require caution.
