“Expensive for what it was, the most run down motel room I have stayed in for a long time.”
We were greeted pleasantly on arrival and shown the room; it was very basic but we were only staying one night and accommodation in the area was scarce. Off‑street parking was right next to the door, and there were kitchenette facilities. The shower was hot with plenty of water and the beds were fine for one night. Cleanliness overall was ordinary with many minor issues: the entry door security locks (x 2) were broken and hanging off; the kitchen “curtain” was an old blanket tied to the curtain rail with string; the fridge door was partially hanging off and wouldn’t close without lifting it; the freezer compartment was so full of ice that there was little room for anything else. The bathroom fan was noisy; the bathroom shower gel was empty/didn’t dispense; the bathroom blind mechanism was broken and it wouldn’t go up or down; the ranch slider had a massive crack in the top glass pane; the “courtyard” had very long unkempt grass, a rotten fence and rubbish present. The couch was dirty; the cushions on the master bed had stains on them; multiple broken/missing handles on furniture. The bathroom handbasin drained very slowly. The room had an unusual smell when we had been absent, not noticeable after being inside for a time.
