“Neblogai, tačiau negrįšime”
The place is truly beautiful, surrounded only by trees and forests, absolutely amazing. The location is very convenient for cars, near a town, shops, and Lake Plateliai, everything easily reachable. The terrace is very nice, large, and you can go onto it from the room by foot. The house is indeed small, which we knew, but before staying it’s important to assess that the ergonomics are uncomfortable: there is practically no convenient space to neatly put clothes or other items. There is a hanging hook for clothes, but it’s not convenient for tidy storage. The terrace lacks a roof: when the sun shines it’s wonderful, but we live in Lithuania where it’s often hot and wet, so it would be nice to be able to stay outside in the rain, but here it might be more of a perspective for the owners to think about the future. The worst experience was the shower: the water pressure was insufficient. If you only rinse, it’s fine, but if you want to wash, it’s very unpleasant when the weak water starts to soak your feet. The outdoor cushions are placed inside, taking up space, and there was also a missing cushion for the full furniture set. In the shower room, the toilet paper holder was not firmly attached, so the paper kept falling, which is a trivial detail, but there were many such trivialities in the house that could be fixed by tightening screws, using hot glue, etc., but that’s not done because people get used to it. We adapted and spent a good time, but not enough to consider returning. We travel a lot staying in houses, so I can confidently say that for such a price, you can find a higher quality accommodation, so we won’t consider coming back. The place really has great potential if there was more focus on providing quality service overall, which would be unrealistic otherwise. Another thing that may not be a minus, but more of an observation, is that compared to other houses, this house offers the possibility to use a fire pit and grill, but you have to bring your own wood. I understand that whether to provide or not is up to the owner, but if the owner takes care of it, you could supply wood for an additional fee.
