“Way Too Expensive for a Below-Average Experience”
I almost never write negative reviews, yet our recent stay at Cebu Club Fort Med in Boljoon, Cebu left me thoroughly disappointed. At PHP 4000 a night, you’d expect a decent level of comfort and service, but that wasn’t the case. The “standard” rooms were shockingly bare, lacking even a TV or mini‑fridge, so we couldn’t keep a bottle of water cold during the summer. Most bathroom fixtures—toilet bowl, faucet, shower head—were broken or old, and a simple replacement would have improved the overall look. The water pressure was weak, trickling down to a faint drizzle, and the drainage was completely backed up, flooding the bathroom every time we showered. When I reported the issue, the reception offered only a wooden broomstick and I had to sweep the floor myself. The reception staff were unhelpful; we mentioned the flooded drain and low water pressure twice—once in person and once via their Facebook page—yet received no urgent response until the next afternoon after another reminder. The location has great potential, but management needs to invest in room upgrades and better staff training to make every penny worth it.
