I stayed at a modern, recently renovated hotel that’s not in the Andenes centre but still convenient for whale‑watching trips, and the buffet breakfast was very good. The only downside was that the car park was a bit wet and muddy after the rain.

The hotel’s location right by the harbour was excellent, but there were barely any places to eat nearby, so I had to book dinners and lunches in advance.

The location was great, my room was comfortable, and the breakfast was good—though it was quite chaotic. Dishes ran out, tables were cluttered with dirty plates, and the coffee machine wasn’t working well, and the nightly rate felt expensive.
