The food was spectacular, but for those who don't speak the language it gets tricky because you’re not told how it’s prepared or how to eat it, so you can’t enjoy it properly.

Honestly, for what you pay, the amount of amenities, comfort, luxury, and availability is astounding. If you can, book a plan that includes dinner, which is absolutely delicious and changes every day. The room was perfect; I booked a Japanese‑style room, it was clean, spacious, and had everything I could need. If you’re staying at a ryokan in Hakone, you probably don’t want to miss the onsen—it’s probably the highlight of the experience, small and cozy, ideal for a relaxing retreat. I’d definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to slow down during their stay in Japan, and it’s also relatively close to the Hakone‑Yumoto train and bus station. I understand that it’s all about the experience, but having dinner at 17:45/18:45 feels a bit early. It’s not just that you’re hungry; it feels like you’re forced to cut your day short to return to the ryokan from wherever you are. It’s not a great option if you’re only looking for a place to sleep while exploring the area.

The location is amazing, the staff are great, and the rooms are fantastic. The food exceeded our expectations as well. If you have tattoos, you’ll need to rent the private onsen, but it’s a great price and a great facility.

I opted for the breakfast‑only package this time and found the morning meal both tasty and thoughtfully prepared. You can request coffee, but the cup is small; it would be nice to have free refills.
