“ME FUI tras la primera noche. Inseguridad y calor!!”
Nothing. Single room on the first floor, HAB 101. The room conditions completely prevented my rest and caused serious discomfort and insecurity, forcing me to leave. Reasons: Lack of security; the sliding door in the room has no lock or safety system, so it can be opened easily from outside. This creates a sense and reality of vulnerability for a single woman. Unhygienic, because the window opens onto an inner courtyard where garbage accumulates and whoever has access is unknown. Because the window can’t be closed due to oppressive heat, the room was exposed all night. The feeling of lack of protection and insecurity caused intolerable anxiety and helplessness, constantly fearing for my physical safety, privacy and belongings; I had to stay awake all night. Uninhabitability due to climate and humidity; the room had extreme dampness, creating an unbearable sauna effect; both the ceiling fan and the floor fan were insufficient; the noise from the vertical fan also made it impossible to sleep, even with earplugs. Therefore, with these security, hygiene, climate and humidity issues, it was impossible to stay a second night. Other details also had a negative impact. The building and room are very old and not renovated. Inside the wardrobe were 4/5 dirty, old hangers and used, very dirty flip-flops on the floor. The small shared bathroom next to the room is neglected. The shower screen was broken, so it was impossible to shower without splashing everything, and there was no mat or towel for the floor, so the floor flooded when showering. The surfaces for shampoos were neglected and looked quite rough to use. There was a small window above the shower; I showered in a bikini because it was clearly visible. The overall feeling is abandonment and lack of care. I was with my 12‑kg dog, grateful for pet‑friendly accommodations, but they provided nothing for pets and charged a supplement for the state of the facilities; the dog also had a bad night, couldn’t stop panting under the bed. The afternoon before the night I had to buy cold water and left it in the room to go to the supermarket; reception had no one and I couldn’t notify them; it wasn’t even 30 minutes. The dog isn’t one that barks or cries, it just marks territory, so it barked, alerted. They called me when I was returning, warning me that it didn’t stop; I don’t know, and if that was the case, I apologized, ran back and we left immediately. Check‑in was from 13:00; I think it was about 15:00 and the room still wasn’t ready. They called me when they saw my belongings were missing and I returned the key; they also asked on WhatsApp; I didn’t answer until night because I wanted to disconnect from what happened and enjoy the only day I had before returning home, as I wouldn’t return to suffer another night there. In general, the lack of maintenance and the neglected look of the facilities, insecurity… make the stay uncomfortable and unpleasant. I consider that the service offered did not meet the minimum requirements of habitability and safety.
