The welcome was very warm and the room in the heart of Shiinamachi felt like home. Sachiko is adorable, and I would have liked to stay a few more days. I hope to return one day.

The hosts were lovely, the house was great, and the location is superb. It’s a quiet neighborhood with character, interesting shops, and architecture. If you’re looking for a relaxing yet fun spot, I highly recommend it.

The room is beautiful with sliding doors and Ryokan‑style privacy. The location is less touristy, the staff are very friendly, and morning coffee or juice is included. There’s an inexpensive laundromat next door. The floor in the room sometimes feels wobbly because of the laundromat.

We loved staying at Sheena & Ippei. The Japanese‑styled room was charming. Sachiko san was a great host, gave excellent restaurant tips, and greeted us each morning with coffee and sweets. The neighborhood isn’t close to the usual tourist spots, but it’s super convenient to reach anywhere from Ikebukuro, and we enjoyed Shiinamachi’s calm atmosphere, experiencing a non‑touristy side of Tokyo we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Another plus is the several great sentos within a few minutes’ walk, letting us relax our muscles after a long day of exploring.

We were warmly welcomed by the hosts, who have enormous hearts and great local recommendations. The neighborhood is calm, full of restaurants and shops, and a short walk to the trains. The space feels cozy, with a little bakery downstairs, a great shower, and comfortable traditional beds. We hope to return soon.
