The place was spotless, staff were extremely polite and friendly, and the food was outstandingly good; rooms stayed clean throughout, making for a great overall experience. The only drawbacks were its location and the lack of card payment options.

We couldn’t reach the hotel on Sunday because the “Sunday market” stayed open until 9 pm, and the tap water was dirty for more than 12 hours before it was fixed; they even had us use a different room just for the toilet and shower, making it feel more like a hostel than a hotel.

We stayed two days at Oxina Cizel, and its proximity to Coaker's Walk and Bryant Park is a major plus, with ample parking and spacious rooms; free Wi‑Fi ran at decent speeds and the staff were generally polite and helpful, though breakfast was just okay with limited choices. On the downside, the rooms carried a musty odor throughout our stay, slippers were promised but never provided—especially noticeable in the cold Kodaikanal weather—and room service wasn’t daily, forcing us to repeatedly request basics like tea/coffee sachets, sugar, and water. The market area around the hotel could be cleaner, as garbage produced unpleasant smells; overall the stay was average for the price, showing good potential but needing improvement.

The room interior was decent, but the windows offered no view because the surrounding buildings were too close and shabby; despite claiming an 800 m distance from the lake, getting there was a long, difficult walk. Breakfast included tasty Upma, other items were fine, but the presentation was mediocre, items arrived late, and some were served too early. The restaurant was closed when I tried ordering dinner at 8 pm, and the room wasn’t cleaned on the second day unless I insisted. It feels more like a room rental than a hotel, the price was high, parking was scarce, and the access was a cramped, dirty market street.
