“Disappointing to say the least!”
Young members of staff who did their best to help. I don't take to slating holiday accommodation lightly and try to be objective as a past owner of guest house we know it is hard to please everyone but with hardly any contact with owners it has been difficult to feel we were guests rather than an inconvenience. We were at times the only guests in this 15 room accommodation! So let's list some of our complaints: Blood stains on mattress Patio door on our first floor didn't lock (security over all was an issue as noone at reception most of the day & doors wide open). We were warned from previous reviews about money going missing so we were careful. Safe not fixed to anything!! so that wasn't an option No shoes in bedroom? to be left outside door Half of the lights in bedroom didn't work. We travel light so use hotel tolietries of which there was only a small amount of shower gel and shampoo. These weren't filled on our one tidy day. I could have chased up but once you've had asked for clean towels and toilet paper you begin to lose the will.Fortunately I had a wee sample soap in my bag which helped! Breakfast served to our table, no buffet set up/ no choice eg most days 1 apple/1orange between us, cheap orange juice, 2 hard fried eggs + 2 frankfurter sausages, 2 slices cheap warm bread (one side slightly toasted) and a bottle of water. Dinner was also no choice, mediocre to say the least eg last 2 nights a burger and a few chips plus some slices of watermelon. Very often it was just the 2 of us at dinner, but occasionally we had a fleeting/scurry past of our friend Roland the Rat!!! not that a rat bothered us much, we've eaten in many a place where rats run up the drainpipes next to us. It didn't come out the kitchen! Our room was tidied once in seven days and no bed linen changed. We had to ask for fresh towels! dried them on balcony and reused after that. Bikes for hire. we didnt, they were so old!
