The design of the converted warehouse was superb, the facilities were great, the included breakfast was excellent, and the food, though limited, was good; the café and music seating area were lovely, everything was new, and the Nishimonai Bonodori in August was unique. However, the town offered few dining options, a 7-Eleven was a 5‑10 minute walk away, and without a car it was hard to get anywhere; the bus schedule changed abruptly and was very limited, and the dorm beds only had artificial lighting.

“昔の豪農の屋敷の雰囲気”

Perfect for a large family staying together, but the cold air from the upstairs air‑conditioner drifts down the stairs into the lower hall, making it freezing for anyone sleeping down there.

The facilities had a lot of character, using an old building that was architecturally impressive and very stylish, which I really enjoyed. On the other hand, it wasn’t functional at all—after a shower there was nowhere to dry a towel, and I couldn’t find a place to keep it for the next day; the few trash cans meant I had to carry rubbish from the second floor down to the shared space, and with a suitcase I wasn’t sure where to store it, as the bed shelf seemed unsuitable and keeping it on the floor would get dirty, while the storage under the bed lacked a proper compartment. After 9 pm no staff were on duty, which left me feeling quite uneasy as a guest.
