When we arrived around 12am, they had no record of our reservation; my children were tired and we almost slept on the reception floor. I then had to pay for two rooms out of my own pocket, one of which didn’t lock. I was reimbursed for that cost and then given three rooms for the second and third nights.

The room was mostly clean, located in central Seminyak, and an elevator takes you to the third floor; the staff trusted my bag after check‑out. The bar fridge still had leftovers from the previous guest, the balcony door wouldn’t slide shut, the body wash was a continuation from the previous guest and half full, and the pillows were huge. I had to buy my own pillows elsewhere to sleep, and the sheet barely covered the mattress. It was hard to find on Maps; the Palette is listed somewhere entirely different when you search for it, so my taxi needed a drop pin.

Overall the hotel is good and the staff are friendly, but the washroom was so small and not so clean.

The staff tried to accommodate us, but they weren’t well‑trained and couldn’t meet our expectations. The hotel was quite run down and clearly needs a major renovation; the Wi‑Fi was almost non‑existent except at the reception. Cleanliness and maintenance were lacking, security was inconsistent, and the metal railings on the corridors and balconies were heavily rusted—some were so fragile that a child could break them, making them dangerous. Hot water took 7 to 10 minutes to reach the rooms. In short, it’s cheap but a dying hotel.
