The owner trains in a martial art with a katana every night, and you can join for free. Afterward, he gives a long explanation. The staff were very pleasant. They offered transfer service upon arrival and departure to the station, and also came to pick us up in the village after dinner. The price is too high for what is offered.

Narai Juku is very different from other destinations you might stay in Japan: it is a small village where tradition and authenticity are set above everything else. Samurai hotel is larger (and cheaper) property in the area, nesteled in forest at the foot of Tori Pass. It has everything a weary traveler will need, although the layout is traditional Japanese - no ensuite bathrooms. The hotel is run by Shusuke Shimojo (Joe) and his dedicated team, so the place feels more like BnB than hi-end hotel. There's nothing to dislike about the property. However, there's a few things to be aware: 1. It's in the forest, so expect some bugs in the area. You may see a huntsman spider - those are harmless and chase after the bugs. 2. It is being renovated so not all areas are open yet

The room and the hotel overall exceeded my expectations; everything was extremely clean, even the common areas, showers, and other shared spaces that I was initially worried about. The hotel was cozy and comfortable, and its location is great if you want to hike Tori Pass. The Japanese breakfast was also very delicious. It’s a bit on the outskirts of the main village, but the shuttle bus makes it a non‑issue.

מקום מאוד נחמד, צוות מקסים . נקי מרווח. ארוחת הבוקר והערב היו נחמדות לא יותר מזה. המיקום קצת רחוק מהעיר עצמה. בעיקר המחיר היה פשוט מאוד יקר יחסית לכל מקום אחר שישנו בו ביפן. יחסית למה שקיבלנו
