The building feels like a cool old structure, and the traditional pub and restaurant look great; the food seemed good, though I didn't try it, and the onsite parking was just okay.

The rooms are very comfortable, the shower is excellent, and I slept well.

The place is very close to the Octagon. Everything was fine.

The location is absolutely brilliant, right in the center, and there's free car parking right next to the hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the check‑in and check‑out were quick and efficient. The bed was massive and comfortable, and the room was clean, though it looked well‑used and tired, which is understandable given the price. The food was fab, and I'd stay again. The hotel’s popularity and free parking explain the heavy traffic through the room, and it could use a spruce‑up.

The hotel has a very retro vibe, once a great place, with multiple photos of Queen Elizabeth’s 1954 visit. The room was comfortable and the real retro feel was a nice change. Mould on the shower silicone joint was slightly off‑putting.
