“Delightful, and I would gladly return and recommend to family and friends visiting Addo.”

My room was a real treat, with a sitting area overlooking the valley—ideal for morning coffee in the sunshine. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very accommodating. Walking around the eco‑reserve was a pleasure, the food was delicious and generous, and I enjoyed the Addo safari and picnic. The internet was spotty at times, but that actually helped me disconnect and relax.

The place is quite and it's perfect for a romantic weekend. The view also it was beautiful looking over on the farm lands perfect. The route coming towards the lodge, but I believe it is something that will be attended to

“Best part of our 3 weeks in South Africa. I recommend day at Addo Elephant reserve and Schotia reserve.”

The setting was gorgeous, the staff were amazing, the game drives were terrific, and the food was very good. My room had excellent facilities and stunning views. Saul was a great guide on the game drive, and the owner and staff made our stay memorable.

“Sehr gut! Unbedingt die safaris machen!”

The property was lovely, with a great view and spacious rooms. On the first day we did the Addo Safari and then the Schotia Safari; both were fantastic and the guides were very friendly. I would recommend both, as they have very different vibes. If you only have time for one safari, I’d choose Schotia because the animals are closer and the chances of seeing the Big 5 are higher. Breakfast was tasty, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. At breakfast I was told that coffee and tea were included, but when I ordered cocoa I was only told at the end of the trip that it wasn’t included and I would have to pay for it. Additionally, there were many animals—spiders, geckos, beetles, snakes—in the room, which is normal given the lodge’s location. The path to the lodge is a gravel road, but we saw turtles and other wildlife along the way.

“Lodge mit Potenzial”

The location was very beautiful and clean, and we booked a great safari in Addo Elephant National Park through the hotel, with a top driver. The hotel feels very traditional and somewhat stiff overall. The restaurant concept was awkward: fixed table arrangements, communal serving for all guests, and little flexibility. At check‑in you had to choose a menu immediately, which felt uncomfortable and somewhat forced. Because there are few alternatives nearby, you’re basically stuck with half‑board. The first evening with a set menu and a quiet atmosphere was rather odd, and other guests seemed surprised by it. You also couldn’t eat all the dishes, which made the concept feel even less flexible. The barbecue on the second evening was much more relaxed and overall more enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable but rather darkly decorated. Overall, the hotel is very “old school,” which some people will like.
