“Excellent Experience like always!!”
The views were great and the grill was a highlight, but the oven wouldn’t work.
Very clean, quiet, and great location.

“Cabin 9.... more like Cabin Nah”
We liked the cabin’s layout and the kids enjoyed it, but our recent stay at Whisky on the River (Cabin 9) fell short of the listing and our expectations. The cabin was dirty on arrival, with dirt, bugs, and hair on the floors, chewed gum on the coffee table, sticky tables and countertops, and the kids’ beds had visible dirt when we pulled back the sheets. The blankets and comforters were stained, and there were no games or puzzles for the kids as advertised. The kitchen was poorly stocked for basic cleaning—only about half a bottle of dish soap, used sponges, and scrub brushes—so we had to buy our own supplies to wash dishes. The bathroom had empty, previously used shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles. Several items were in disrepair, including broken dining chairs. The mini‑split units didn’t work properly; we kept the thermostat at 72° but woke up on the last morning to a cabin temperature of only 58°. The shower was another frustration, with water fluctuating between ice cold and scalding hot, making it hard to shower comfortably. The biggest disappointment was the cabin’s location. Unlike cabins 4–7, Cabin 9 has essentially no river view. The listing implied a sandy riverfront easily accessible, so we thought we’d spend time on the river, but the only beach access was on the other side of the campground and required a hike through mosquito swarms, only to find the beach muddy and rocky. The sandy area required crossing the river, which was misleading. The porch was nearly unusable because of overwhelming mosquitoes. If Cabin 9 remains a rental, screening the porch would help a lot. We could only tolerate being outside after spraying two cans of yard fogger and mosquito spray.
“We loved this place. It was one of the best weekend trips we’ve taken. Definitely going back!!”
We loved everything about the location. Such a quiet and relaxing place
