“Cancelou minha estadia no dia da minha chegada”

I booked Cabocla Lodge in Alter do Chão at the start of June. When I arrived in September at Santarém Airport, the lodge manager, Mr. Marcelo, informed me that the place was full and had an overbooking; he said it was my fault, and he moved me to another nearby lodge. Although that lodge was comfortable, the room was smaller than what I had reserved. Thankfully the owner of the other lodge welcomed us very well, but I felt totally disrespected because I had made an early reservation, paid 30 % of the stay three months in advance, for a 4‑day stay. This is my complaint and a warning to anyone who goes there after me.

“Regular”

The proximity to Alter do Chão village and other key spots was a plus. There were no staff at the reception, the internet was weak, and the TV didn’t work. The room cleaning was satisfactory, but they didn’t restock the paper.

The spot is right in the middle of everything, which made getting around a breeze. But the room felt like a sauna and there was a faint musty odor that made it a bit uncomfortable. Still, the convenience of the location more than made up for the lackluster room.
