The surroundings are pleasant and the main highlight of this cottage, where I rented a room, is undoubtedly the pool and the leafy setting that lets you relax on a sun‑shade lounger. There are also various spots in the garden so everyone can have breakfast in peace. We’re about 20 km from Brantôme. The road from Brantôme to the site lets you pass through a very beautiful landscape. We’re not far from Bourdeilles, a lovely village where I went for dinner. I found the room a bit small. However, it had a big bed and it was comfortable. It was very hot and I had to run the fan provided all night, plus keep the windows open. It’s a room you don’t really want to stay in because the window is small and there’s no view. At the first shower on arrival: no hot water! Same at the pool return. Sure, it’s summer, it’s a heatwave, but it was unpleasant, and I prefer a cool shower that I can set myself than a freezing one! I warned the owner who fixed the issue. The Wi‑Fi code was not in the room as promised when I asked, so I eventually found it in the cottage kitchen by accident. I paid 131,90 € for the room. Breakfast was not included in the price, but the price wasn’t listed on the site and that’s where the problem is: I paid 15 € for a coffee with milk, a very liquid homemade plain yogurt, a small glass of orange juice, a croissant, two pieces of bread with butter (which should have been salty but wasn’t), and I paid… 15 €. I’ve already had excellent breakfasts in hotels and B&Bs that were usually cheaper, more varied and more plentiful. That’s why I marked it “passable” and not “pleasant”. The price and contents should be clear from the start and listed on the site, otherwise you feel tricked. And maybe a small commercial gesture for the inconvenience caused by the hot‑water problem would have been welcome! That would show the host cares about more than just a client. That’s also what I look for in a B&B.

The place had character, calm, a nice pool, and a decent breakfast, but the bees during breakfast were a bit annoying.

The breakfast was excellent, all homemade and absolutely delicious, and there was nothing else to complain about – it was a fabulous place to stay!
