“Peaceful weekend getaway to a tropical paradise”
We were upgraded to the Chivapuri resort owned by the same group. The property is on a nice, quiet beach with lots of greenery. No complaints.

I booked the Tropical Beach Resort, but it was closed, so I was told my reservation would be moved to the neighboring Chivapuri Beach Resort, which sits right next to the closed property. This review is actually about Chivapuri Beach Resort, and I can recommend it. The only downside was that the soundproofing between my ground‑floor room and the one above wasn’t as good as it could be.

We enjoyed total seclusion and absolute quiet on a deserted beach during the very low season, being the only guests for six days, but the beach itself isn’t swimmable because of rocks except at very high tide, which only happens roughly every 24 hours 45 minutes, sometimes in the middle of the night for an entire week.

The peace and natural setting were nice, but there was no service at all – the reception stayed closed the whole time and we had to call and wait around ten minutes for a staff member to appear. We couldn’t order anything at the hotel bar because there were no employees, the rooms were cleaned sloppily, and the towels bore the name of a hotel on Phuket, which was oddly ironic. Staying in a supposedly paradisiacal spot without any sense of security was terrible; I strongly advise against this place—it was my worst experience in Thailand in ten years, and the feeling of insecurity was overwhelming.
