“Horrible, long drive for nothing”

The receptionist was very nice and polite, but the place was not what I expected; the website was very misleading, the cube I booked (#26) was infested with big black spiders, I’m terrified of spiders, and when I told the receptionist—who was still polite—she said “It’s camping, use the spider spray.” We left, didn’t stay, and drove two hours for nothing.

“A beautiful glamping concept, but our stay ended the first night after encountering multiple large spiders inside the do”

The property has a unique glamping concept and the dome itself had a fun, distinctive design. I am an experienced camper and glamper and was genuinely looking forward to this stay and a relaxing weekend. Unfortunately, our actual experience overshadowed the positives. We arrived around 10:30–10:40 PM and were given a substitute dome because the one we selected was unavailable. Almost immediately after entering, we encountered three separate large spiders inside the dome. These were not tiny house spiders; their leg spans appeared to be roughly the size of a half-dollar coin. One was on the curtain beside the sleeping area, another disappeared behind the hanging curtains, and a third was crawling across the floor near the entrance. We reported the problem immediately. The property offered to obtain spray and spray inside the dome the following day. We did not feel comfortable staying, so we spent the evening finding replacement lodging, notified the property that we were leaving, and requested a refund. We ultimately had to pay an additional $643.87 for a hotel. I completely understand that insects are part of camping and glamping. What concerned me was encountering multiple large spiders inside the sleeping area and learning that the dome was not fully sealed, which was not something I understood from the listing when I booked. The property ultimately declined our $600.57 refund request based on its no-refund policy

My girlfriend and I finally got to stay at the Day Dreamer Domes and we were thrilled with every detail; as a local business owner and South Haven enthusiast, it felt like the perfect staycation, the setting was fun and cool, the staff were awesome, and their giftshop was a pleasant surprise—so much so that I’m heading back soon to grab matching T‑shirts for us.

“way too expensive for what it was”

It was really nothing; too expensive for what it was, no coffee before 9am which was way too late, breakfast also at 9, and it was excessive to have to take out all your garbage for the cost to stay.
