“Great place to stay if you are looking for 'party central', otherwise stay elsewhere”

Breakfast options included in the room price were limited, but the staff accommodated dietary needs well. There is no vehicle access to the hotel front; the nearest vehicle access is 100 m away at the end of a very busy road, causing confusion about the pickup point for tours I arranged independently. It was noisy, with a band playing until 11 pm every night. They also failed to inform me that there would be day‑time renovations that were noisy. They offered 300 pesos compensation per day, which only covered a drink, so I barely slept. I would have preferred advance notice so I could choose another place.

“If I go to Bohol again, this is where I will stay if they have room.”

The staff were lovely, the location was great, and the waves helped me fall asleep. Breakfast was decent before I headed out on my adventures, and they offered to pack a lunch if I needed one. The only downside was the timing; some construction was happening, but it didn’t bother me when I was there.

“Everything I came for and more!”

I’ve been to Alona Vida twice now, and the team treated me like the most important guest. They went above and beyond to help me charter a boat, and when I wanted a river cruise an hour away, a hotel employee drove me so I wouldn’t have to rent a car all day. Whenever my glass ran out, they refilled it; whenever I needed a fresh towel, they had one ready. It may not be the fanciest hotel in Panglao, but I doubt I’d have been treated so well at a bigger, pricier place. I’ll always choose this hotel for Panglao. The only issue was that some facilities were being updated, which I hadn’t known when I booked, but they more than made up for it. At check‑in they gave me free breakfast vouchers for every day of my stay and extra vouchers for the bar.
