“Nuovissimo ma a tratti non si capiva fosse un hotel”
The location was good and the breakfast was decent, but nobody spoke English and no one helped us with our luggage.

The place was clean and well located, yet the room fridges weren’t cold enough to keep food properly, so we were told to use the front‑desk fridge, which is inconvenient and impractical for guests. Also, the bathroom is partially open to the room above, which might feel less private for those who value more privacy.

An excellent hotel with a generous breakfast buffet and a restaurant that looks out over the buildings surrounding Tian’anmen Square. The rooms faced directly opposite another wing, so you could see into them, which was unpleasant; if you want to watch the flag‑raising at sunrise you have to arrive well before the ceremony (1.5 hours wasn’t enough because of security checks), travelling light helps, and don’t forget your passport.

The staff were very helpful.

The hotel’s location was just minutes on foot from Qian Men walking street, and Amber handled an early check‑in smoothly, even giving me her Chinese mobile number so I could use it for various online ordering apps and to coordinate with delivery people. The only drawback was the lack of air‑conditioning during this period in Beijing, which made the night when we had to pack and check out a bit sweaty, but otherwise it was manageable.
