The location was really convenient for pilgrims, the rooms were nice, the atmosphere pleasant, and the host was friendly 👍
“Quiet farmhouse with spectacular views”
The terrace offered beautiful views, the place was quiet, and the basic accommodation was 8 km from Deba in a quaint old farmhouse. Our bags arrived on time via Correos and the proprietor’s young daughter gave us a warm welcome and let us drop off our luggage before check‑in. There were microwave meals on site, but otherwise we had to eat in Deba and take a 15‑minute bus back. It could be a great Camino stop if it developed further. The buses between Deba and the farmhouse were infrequent, so we walked to Deba for the Camino stamp and then tried to catch a taxi back, but none were available. I also tried to arrange a taxi for a 7 am start the next day but couldn’t get one, possibly because the property is isolated—this would have helped us a lot. The bed linen and pillows were updated when possible; white sheets were better than dark ones, and the pillows were flat.
The owner’s proximity, waking up to vineyard views, sheep on the grounds, and the chance to dine with others were all positives.
Clean and welcoming structure, a great spot for those on the Camino de Santiago, and also a solid base for visitors to the Basque coast if you have a car, offering good value for money.
“Perfect for a stay on the comino”
Beautiful, lovely location and extremely comfortable; I enjoyed hanging out with the other guests.
