“Séjour au calme”
The bungalow was very comfortable with a beautiful view of the rice paddies, and we really enjoyed our peaceful stay away from Ubud’s city bustle. Breakfast was simple but excellent, and after staying several days the owner treated us to a delicious dinner. However, the hotel is 20 minutes on foot from the main road, which can be tiring when carrying luggage. The hotel offers motorcycle transfers because cars can’t reach it, and we arrived at night on foot, so it’s hard to find; don’t hesitate to call them for a pick‑up.
Kidem and his family were more than just hosts; they made sure everything was fine at all times. The accommodation is an oasis amid rice fields, and with a motorbike you’re in 5 minutes in downtown Ubud. It’s also a lovely walk among palms and rice paddies, and in 15 minutes on foot you can reach the center. Around the lodging there are different warungs. The cabin is a dream, with wide windows to enjoy the views from the bed. The breakfasts are fantastic, the pancakes are a delight. The pool‑integrated bathroom in the rice field will make you forget the day’s hustle. But above all, Kidem, his wife and little daughter will make you feel at home. Thank you family for hosting us during our week in Ubud and sharing many moments, Kidem, you’re a great dance artist. Nothing.
“Inolvidable!!!”
I liked the place, the service, the breakfast, etc. Maybe a bit far from the center, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the spot.
“We loved it.”
We stayed at Kidem Villas for five nights, and it was one of the most special parts of our time in Ubud. I’m very glad we stayed here instead of downtown, because it let us experience a completely different side of Ubud. The villas are surrounded by rice terraces, with the sounds of animals and insects, water constantly flowing through the fields, fireflies at night, and mornings where you simply wake up with the sunlight. It is peaceful, relaxing and wonderfully slow‑paced. The villa feels a little like a very cool glamping tent, with a rustic charm. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is lovely, and the large glass windows bring in lots of natural light and beautiful views. There are a few small things that could be improved, but you have to remember that you are staying right in the middle of the rice terraces. Having breakfast on our private terrace and reading on our daybed were some of the most magical moments of our holiday. The staff and Kidem, the owner, were wonderful hosts. They made us feel very welcome, helped us with our luggage on arrival and departure, rented us a scooter to explore the subaks, and Kidem even cooked us a delicious dinner. We will definitely come back. I highly recommend Kidem Villas if you are looking for peace, nature and a chance to slow down from the chaos of city life. If you are looking for luxury and all the comforts of a high‑end hotel, this may not be the place for you. But for a beautiful, authentic and peaceful experience in Ubud, it is truly special. I think the breakfast could include some fresh fruits to make it perfect.
“Séjour au calme dans les rizières”
The quiet location, the setting among rice paddies, the room, the very responsive staff, and the excellent breakfast. Note: The location isn’t accessible by car. It takes 15 minutes on foot to reach Ubud’s center, or the staff can take you by scooter. Knowing this isn’t a problem!
