“Un vero best for value”
This little hotel feels like a sweet treat, freshly renovated not too long ago. The 24‑hour reception desk offers a free cappuccino or a quick microwave for a snack at the table, and there’s a lovely dehor to relax in. The area is great – just a short walk to the metro, three supermarkets, and a plethora of cafés, pubs (I recommend Black Bird), and restaurants. Our room was clean but tiny (we knew it would be), with a comfortable French bed, a charming bathroom, and a superb shower (the tiny sink was unbearable). The ceilings are very high and the windows are huge. Unfortunately we were on the ground floor and the window faced the courtyard, so anyone could see in, and we had to ask the reception for a key to open it. In addition, the corridor housed a bathroom and a service room, and the frequent traffic and banging doors really disturbed the quiet that usually prevailed. The receptionist mentioned that maybe we could get another room the next day (but he never followed up, and we didn’t say anything because we had already unpacked and only needed to stay one more night). Aside from the noise, for what we paid it turned out to be a decent place.
The tiny sink and corridor noises were the main complaints.
