“Excellent staff,best breakfast”
This hotel really stands out. The location, the friendly staff, the staffing levels, and especially the breakfast were fantastic. It has the best breakfast of any hotel I’ve been to. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like.
The location was spot‑on and the staff were fantastic; we also loved the pillows. Nothing else to add.
“Beautiful building in a great location”
The location is great and the building is beautiful. It’s pricey, but that’s just Sydney these days.
“Great location, comfortable rooms with good ammenities, friendly helpful staff.”
We liked that the room felt more classic than many modern “cookie‑cutter” hotels, yet it had been renovated with all the modern amenities. The large spa bath was a bonus. The staff were friendly and helpful, even upgrading our room and offering a bottle of champagne for our anniversary. The tiled floors in the toilet and bathroom could have been cleaned better.
“Very enjoyable stay in this beautiful old building.”
I found a quiet sanctuary away from Sydney CBD, with a spotless environment and staff who were very helpful. However, the hotel feels a bit sterile and lacks a homely vibe; some staff come across as coldly professional, sticking strictly to scripts, and a warmer, softer touch would improve the experience. In room 1227, there was no hanging space or drawers, the bedside USB chargers didn’t work, and the absence of C‑type charging points was inconvenient.
