We loved the scenery around the area, driving ourselves along the breathtaking routes; most check‑in times were early, but since we were driving around Hokuriku and had a long drive, it was a relief that the host let us check in before 10 am, so we could head straight to 下呂温泉 for a soak before staying. Because we shared the house with the owner and checked in late, we kept our clothes and belongings tidy to avoid disturbing anyone, and in the deep mountains there were some insects, but that was fine.
