The location is right next to parking and the staff were really helpful – when I ran into trouble getting the city discount card, the receptionist drove over to the tourist office and sorted it out for me. The flat was spotless and the kitchen gear was top‑notch. On the downside there was no air‑conditioning, the windows and doors had no screens so bugs got in, and there was no lift so we had to lug our bags up the stairs.

The crew were friendly and the apartment was modern and well‑fitted, and the spot was perfect for a group that wanted more than just the usual sights. Coming back from a night out in the cold, though, you pretty much need a taxi, and the 9:30 am checkout felt a bit early.

We stayed with six people in a holiday apartment and a separate unit; both were in good shape, Wi‑Fi worked fine and we could comfortably cook and eat together. The sauna and steam bath were clean and we used them twice a week, and there was plenty of parking though a bit cramped. The bread‑roll service was handy and we could tweak the order for the next day, and restaurants were within walking distance.

We were greeted in Dutch and got quick answers whenever we had a question, plus fresh rolls were delivered to the room. The bus stop was only about 100 m away and the ski room was warm and well‑heated. The only drawback was that the bathroom and toilet were tucked behind another room, so we had to walk through to reach them, and there was just one bathroom with the toilet inside.
