The location is fantastic: the sea is right in front, Turkey on the left, Georgia on the right, and mountains behind. The hosts speak Russian fluently and helped me set up local mobile service. The Wi‑Fi is fast, and the beach is only a 5‑minute walk away. The sand is a mix of fine and coarse pebbles. My room had huge beds and a tea‑making area. The only downside was that the holiday ended abruptly.

The family is lovely, helpful, and friendly. Sarpi village sits on a lush hillside with a direct view of the border, the Black Sea, and gorgeous sunsets. I requested a balcony room, and every window offered a view. The room is spacious and comfortable; the shared bathroom is just outside the door (I think there is one room with a private bathroom). A small kitchen with a fridge is available for guests. A marshrutka departs from Batumi. The climb up the hill is steep but typical for hillside guesthouses; you can take a taxi for 10 gel with luggage. I loved staying here, and Maya speaks English! The only issue was no Wi‑Fi, but my phone data worked intermittently and nearby restaurants have good Wi‑Fi.

The place is interesting and sits high up the hill above Sarpi. It feels rural, with excellent views across the valley toward Turkey. Sarpi itself offers nothing special—just a gateway to Turkey—so staying here is a bit of a daft choice, especially since the beach is almost impossible to reach. It’s no better than the coastal options, which was my only reason to book here. There’s nowhere to eat, and breakfast isn’t served. I admit it was a dumb choice on my part; the place was fine, basic, and cheap.

The hosts are wonderful people, always in touch and ready to resolve any issue. The price‑quality ratio is excellent. The house’s location and surroundings are very beautiful. With empty roads, it’s 25 minutes from Batumi, yet it’s much quieter and calmer than Batumi itself. The sea is 10 minutes away.
