“Ideal city centre location to stay in Hong Kong.”
I booked the Modern room on the 14th floor of Mirador Mansion in Hong Kong, but the owner gave me a similar room with two single beds on the 8th floor at a flat called Valentine, managed by the same owner. The room has been freshly renovated, with large tiles on the floor and walls. The toilet and shower are in the same room, and the floor gets wet when you shower. Sandals are supplied for the wet bathroom floor. The hot water system delivers quick hot water, and the shower pressure is strong. A wall air‑con unit and a wall fan are in the room. Outside the room there’s a communal hot water supply. Tea and coffee are provided, as well as a microwave oven. An iron is available in the communal area, though I didn’t see an ironing board. Hong Kong phone chargers are also in the communal area for guests who forgot their adapters. The room has a small fridge, a hair dryer, a safe, and free Wi‑Fi. The maid cleaned the room daily and always dried the wet shower floor after cleaning. A bus stop opposite Mirador Mansion lets you catch the A21 bus to the international airport – very convenient. Overall I’m completely satisfied with the room I received. I had trouble finding the place. Trip: look for Mirador Mansion first. Nothing on the ground floor mentions Modern. You have to go to the office at Flat D1 on the 14th floor of Mirador Mansion, a high‑rise building. At peak hours, there’s a long queue for the lifts to the high‑rise building. Caution: don’t get the floor tile wet in your room, as it can become very slippery, especially when using the thin disposable room slippers provided (the floor tile isn’t slippery if you use the bathroom sandals). This is a high‑rise building with many tenants. A few of them dry their laundry on the ceiling of the common corridor.
