“Terrence and Chris made the trip worthy and the safari was awesome.”
Terrence the driver and tracker Chris did a great job locating animal viewing spots, and the house staff—waiter and chef—were very friendly. However, the jeep on our first safari broke down after 5 minutes, and we waited 45 minutes with no one coming to pick us up or provide a replacement. The driver mentioned that the vehicle had already been problematic before. We were moved into a new group, complained about the jeep, and the guide was rude. Later we discovered that the guide had a room inside our villa, frequently moving in and out through the living room—very invasive. We were told he was security, but he was actually a guide unrelated to our group. Renting a villa at a high price and having a stranger in the house, especially in the neighboring room, without prior notice was unacceptable. When we tried to get help or complain via message, no one responded. They also canceled an activity after we had confirmed it, and the spot was already taken when we tried to secure it, so we lost the activity. A discount was offered for the first day's mishaps. The villa itself is spacious, and the butler, chef, and cleaning staff are friendly, but the bathrooms are uncomfortable: towels are very small, there's no place to hang them, water from the sink spills, and hot water was not available until we asked twice to fix it.
