I had trouble getting the owner to answer my questions about checking out a few days later, and the building lets people smoke inside so the odor spreads everywhere; the room also doesn’t block sound well, but otherwise everything was fine and the décor was interesting.

The two hostel workers, Austin and Kiara, were the best.

I recently stayed at Happy House Backpackers and it was an amazing experience; the vibe is great, mixing relaxation and adventure, the staff are super friendly and always ready with local tips, the rooms are clean and comfortable with everything a backpacker needs, including fast Wi‑Fi that saved me when planning the next leg of my trip.
The staff were wonderful, the place is in a great spot, the facilities are amazing, and they even upgraded me to a better room at no cost; I definitely recommend staying in Pai.
The location was nice and I liked the duvet cover, but the courtyard smelled bad, the cats were annoying, the room was small, and the bed was hard.
