“A very relaxing onsen retreat next to a river outside Kanazawa”

Very clean, amazing staff, amazing location and the onsen was out of this world relaxing! It would have helped if they had made it clearer that the private onsen (of which there are three types) are not connected directly to the room – they’re actually in a different building, but you get there on a very short private walk. Also, it would have been good to know that each room is assigned to a specific onsen so you’d know which one you’d get when you book.

The rooms are amazing, spacious, the staff are extraordinary, the environment is calm, the experience is exclusive, and you hardly see other guests. The onsens are wonderful. I liked everything.

“The finest Inn we have experienced !”

The inn exceeded every expectation—everything from the proprietress and chef to the food, wine, and sake pairings was outstanding, worthy of Michelin’s attention. The staff were attentive and friendly, making the experience unforgettable. Our room was well appointed with a peaceful, picturesque view, and the furnishings were crafted by local artisans. The hot baths, private and outdoors, were the best we’ve had in Japan, truly rejuvenating. Though not a traditional ryokan, it captured the spirit of one while offering Western seating, which was perfect for us older guests who can’t sit on the floor. We wished we could have stayed longer.
