“Déçue”

The receptionist was clean and the place was tidy. The website no longer describes what’s actually there, maybe it did before. There are no children’s games or alpacas, and we weren’t told in advance that payment had to be cash or PayPal. We booked two triple rooms but received a triple and a double. We also had to endure hotel maintenance with power cuts. The garden could be beautiful but many things are abandoned. The view is very nice and makes up for it.

“Excelente opción en Puno”

It’s central and had parking for the rented vehicle. They contacted us quickly with a food delivery service to order dinner. In the morning the breakfast was delicious, the best in the eight days we’ve spent in Peru. The street where it’s located has a steep slope, making access with the vehicle a bit risky, but everything worked out in the end.

The lake view from the window was truly amazing, and the staff were great. The hotel is a long way from the city center; we paid $8 for a taxi that took about 25 minutes to arrive, and getting back was a hassle because some drivers wouldn’t go or raised the fare to $15. Still, the view made it worthwhile. The room itself was a bit rough—holes in the curtains, old towels, and the bed was positioned right next to an electrical socket. The headboard touched the light switch behind it, and we could hear sparking noises, which felt a little unsafe.

The view from the window was fantastic, and the front‑desk lady was sweet and helpful.
