The view is very relaxing.
“Friendly host, but the place needs a clean‑up”
The spot is in a great part of town and the host was genuinely friendly, which made checking in easy. Unfortunately the room itself was dirty, the bathroom left a lot to be desired, and the common areas were noisy enough that conversations at night carried right into the bedroom. It felt like a mixed bag – nice location and host, but not a clean or quiet stay.
“Handy location with a relaxed feel”
The place sits in a handy spot and has a chill vibe that makes it easy to relax after a day of sightseeing. Nothing else to complain about, just a straightforward stay in a good location.
“Good spot, but a night‑arrival nightmare”
The only thing that really worked in its favor was the location, but that wasn’t enough to make up for the chaotic start. We warned them we’d be arriving late, yet got zero instructions on how to find the building – no signs, no landmarks, and our messages went unanswered until 3 a.m. After a security guard finally called the hostel and led us there, we were exhausted and shoved into a tiny room that wasn’t even in the photos, while the whole place looked tired and in need of a fresh coat.
“Great view and location, but entry is a pain”
We loved the city view, comfy beds, and the fact that the Bund and Yuyuan Garden were just a short walk away, plus a mall and cheap eateries right next door. The downside was the entry system – the hostel never gave us a keycard, so we had to wait for another resident every time we wanted to go in or out, which even stopped us from checking out the local bands we’d planned to see. The location and rooms were solid, but the access hassle was a real inconvenience.
