The location was good. There was no guidance on how to enter the premises, even though there are no staff, and the TV doesn’t work.

The place is convenient for hitting the tourist spots and sits right in the heart of Philadelphia. The rooms were decent and the beds were comfortable. They offered a shared kitchen and a washing machine, which was handy. However, the stairs up to the floor were absolutely disgusting! The carpet on the stairs and hallway was vile and should be removed as a health hazard. In my room, the armchair was stuffy and needed a clean or replacement, and the desk chair had slightly peeling leather in some areas. The bathrooms were dirty; the caulking around the bathtub was mouldy and unclean, and the bath drain was also very dirty. The shower curtain wouldn’t stay on and fell off very easily. The beds felt insecure because they moved easily when you sat on them.

The hotel is in Chinatown, making sightseeing, dining, and shopping convenient, and it has a shared kitchen. The downside is that the restaurant downstairs kept the noise loud until about 9 pm, so I couldn’t relax.

Right in the centre of all the sights, it’s easy to walk to everything and close to shops, malls, and restaurants. There’s quite a bit of noise at night, but that added to the atmosphere for us. The room was lovely, comfortable, clean, and had Netflix on the TV! Having a kitchen was great too. Nearby, the You&me shop has a great supermarket downstairs. We arrived at 10 pm, found the way there with no trouble, and all the access details were sent well ahead of time, so we were very clear. When first entering the building, it looks shabby and run‑down. The stairs are narrow and quite steep. Thankfully we were on the second floor, so not too many stairs to climb. However, once inside, the place is clean and modern.
