The owners Brigitte and Bruno welcomed us warmly. The setting by the canal is peaceful.
Brigitte and Bruno know what hospitality means. The warm welcome, making you feel at ease, and their genuine interest in guests show they run the chambre d'hôte with love. We enjoyed the meal. Never before had we had a host who smoked the meat themselves. The regional cake with sugar was sublime. After a wonderful breakfast we said goodbye and received a bottle of ice water. Quiet and secluded, all the facilities we needed, no dislikes at all.
Bruno & Brigitte gave us a perfect 10/10 for their amazing hospitality, especially since we booked last minute and arrived with our two bicycles. We dined with them that evening, then had breakfast in their kitchen the next morning, feeling like old friends despite our shaky French. The location is super peaceful along the canal path, and our bikes were safely stowed behind their fence, guarded by Patty, their little Cavalier King Charles dog. The guest sleeping accommodation is a separate building from their house, and there is another wooden chalet for extra luggage and a place to sit and have a drink. Bruno, interested in cooking, kindly showed us his smoke house where he smokes salmon and pork. We had a lovely stay with a lovely couple.
