“Fabulous mini break”
The staff made the stay so enjoyable and loved all the different theme rooms, and the food was great, but there was no spa and breakfast finished early at 9:30.

The staff really make your stay exceptional—they’re friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The property has a lovely history and the library is fascinating with an impressive collection of books; I loved the vibe, and the location is excellent, just five minutes from Paper Mill restaurants and a pub. I enjoyed the wide variety of breakfast and the food was delicious. The downside is there’s no spa or pool, breakfast starts too early at 9:30, and the furniture could use rearranging to fit a small round table for room service—there’s nowhere to put the tray.

The place offered great value for money.

The surroundings were quiet and spacious, with plenty of parking and an elegant style, yet the reception was very slow to process check‑in and check‑out, and the room was very basic and dated.

The building and surroundings looked beautiful, but the experience was stunning.
