It is a very charming old facility currently undergoing ambitious renovations by the new owners. The shared shower was exceptional, with plenty of hot water. The bed was quite comfortable and the owner gave a detailed history of the 1910 building. We wish them great success in this endeavor. Food trash was left in the room by housekeeping.

We were blown away by the hotel's historic charm and architectural details, but on that scorching day it got a bit hot; the staff offered solutions, installed window screens, and moved a portable AC closer to us.

The building itself is a real gem, with its old-world charm and unique interior design. However, it's clear that the hotel's in the middle of a renovation, which takes away from the overall experience. A proper breakfast spread would've been a great addition, especially considering the hotel's character. Unfortunately, the standard chain hotel breakfast just didn't cut it.

I've gotta say, the McCleary hotel really surprised me. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially when I checked in late. The room was small but spotless, and the bed was comfy. The location's great too, just a short walk from the town centre. The only downside was the noise from the nearby highway, but it wasn't too bad. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again.
