There was a smoking area, which was good. I found it amusing that the cat could open and close the door by itself. The morning bath was lukewarm and didn’t warm my chilled body. The stairs were tough.

I was able to check in late at night without any hassle, thanks to the staff who had already been notified beforehand; the large public bath was also very comfortable.

The bath was spacious enough to relax at my own pace.

The bath was cleaner than I had imagined and the water felt great; for women, the door could be locked from the inside, giving a private‑bath feel that made the space feel even larger and allowed me to soak leisurely and unwind. The laundry machine was free, and the dryer cost 100 yen for 10 minutes, which was a great deal. For men, the door wasn’t lockable from the inside, so when I went in I had to quietly open it; fortunately no one was there, but if someone had been it might have felt awkward. I think it would be better if men could lock the door too.
