The property itself could be nice, especially the ground‑floor lounge with a large window overlooking the lake. The gentleman who welcomed us, Paul, was friendly, kind, and willing to accommodate our request to change rooms (the one we had booked via Booking wasn’t assigned to us). He also let us sample some whisky and gave us interesting explanations. Everything else was awful: the rooms had a strong mold smell, dirty carpet, used towels in the bathroom, wasps emerging from a poorly positioned shower head, blood‑stained curtains, and a used bar soap. The bed was uncomfortable with a collapsed mattress. The corridors were lined with candles, probably to mask the bad odor, but with carpet everywhere, it felt unsafe. It’s a shame because it has potential, but it needs a complete renovation. As it stands, the value for money is terrible.

Nothing good at all. The lobby restroom was disgusting, the light didn’t work, and the restaurant was the worst; bugs were on our table and in the food, and we even found pieces of plastic. The whole hotel smelled bad, and the room was anything but welcoming. The bathroom lacked a shower curtain and bugs were everywhere. We didn’t even stay the night because it was disgusting. The owner didn’t offer a refund and still charged us extra for bread and a coke! Worst stay ever—run from this place!
