The breakfast options were great and they adapted to what we wanted; the little details were excellent. Nothing else.

Everything about our weekend stay was fantastic. The facilities were excellent, and all services were first class. Most importantly, the staff went above and beyond; everyone we met was incredibly professional, welcoming, and always ready to help. The food was absolutely amazing. There was no mini fridge or minibar in the room, but the hotel kindly gave us fresh milk in a flask instead, so it wasn’t a real issue or major complaint for us.

Breakfast choices were excellent, and variations were happily accepted; service was very good. The location was fine, only a bit limited by road works in the village. The receptionist was especially helpful, and Callum was very useful when fixing the TV remote. No roadworks! I would have liked a handgrip above the bath.

The breakfast was very nice, but honestly it’s fine. For £100 a night I’d be perfectly happy. The pub/hotel is similar in many ways to The Fox in Bury St Edmunds where we stayed the night before. That place offered air conditioning in the room, state‑of‑the‑art furnishings, a fridge in the room, and parking directly in front of our room. On a Friday evening we paid £140 for that room, which was absolutely fine. On Saturday evening we paid 25 % more to stay at the Crown, which was, in all honesty, 25 % inferior.
