It’s close to the city centre. Pets are accepted but not at breakfast; they had to be carried in the car, which is ridiculous. They shouldn’t accept them at all.

The receptionist was welcoming, the breakfast was good, and it’s close to the city centre. The air‑conditioning is a bit noisy.

Everything was perfect, I recommend it!

The flat is great, offering a spacious double bed and, on the lower level, three single beds (which we didn’t use); the main bedroom feels lofty and the unit comes with solid air‑conditioning and a compact kitchen, located on the first floor behind the hotel and its parking. The only drawback is the bathroom entrance – it’s awkward to get inside unless you’re very slim, because you have to turn sharply from the sink to the toilet and shower; an outward‑opening door would have been more convenient.

We chose this spot for its solid price and prime walkable spot in Cognac, letting us wander the charming old town right up to the river, and the gated parking with roof racks gave us confidence with our pricey sports gear. However, the studio was a sauna in the summer, even with the AC on, because the windows lack shutters and the blackout blinds are black, so heat bounces back, and the bathroom seems to keep its underfloor heating on all the time.
